in Defense of Humanity - U.S. Chapter
About the Network
We are the U.S. Chapter of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity.
The Network constitute a movement of action and thought against all forms of domination towards writers, artists, poets, scientists, lawyers, and academics, religious, athletes, students, and social movements, in order to support the processes of social change, oppose imperialism and its neoliberal policies, denounce the wars, combat hunger, poverty and the problems of education and health that plague the majority of human beings. The Network equally pronounces in favor of cultural diversity, in defense of the environment and to develop an alternative thinking with an own worldview, among other objectives.
It is structured as a network of networks and responds to the need to comply with the mandate of the Plenary Assembly of the World Meeting of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity held in Caracas on December 6, 2004, attended by representatives of fifty- two countries and diverse cultures. People are connected to the network through national chapters in more than 30 countries, as private organizations or as part of other networks or with like-minded organizations.
